Nah, it was that goddamn writers strike. It's a good thing they'll get a share of the internet bucks. Now they can pay my daycare bills.

oh, you TALKED about us. Okay. Right. That's SO MUCH BETTER than shout-outs! ... Sorry - the jealousy monster crept out there for a sec - I haven't had a hangover in over 3 years, and I really miss those rowdy late nights. You guys look gorgeous and it's clear from all the photos that you had such a great time. Thanks for sharing the details with us.

That's wierd. That's exactly what I'm doing right now, all the way over on the other side of the country! Well, okay there isn't a bay, and I'm already out of beer, and I'm pretty sure you've got all the liberals right there with you, but there sure as heck is some football on TV today. Hope you all have a great time at your fancy meetup, and I'm not requesting any shout-outs. Nope. Not a one. You folks just have a darn good time without me. *runs off, sobbing*

We've been watching Season 2 of The Muppet Show, so I recognized that Computer Monster sketch immediately. But the Martha appearance was priceless. "See you tomorrow." Ha! My daughter thanks you for the links, Nickdanger.

In "Chart toppers for your birth date. "

Ten years ago I went to a funeral where a bagpiper played Amazing Grace as the family walked out behind the casket. I hadn't been to many funerals, but it was an especially touching memorial to a wonderful father and public servant, and after hearing several humorous and flattering stories about the man, the extra sense of importance lent to the march by the bagpiper was just the right note to end the service. Afterwards I told every one of my family members that I wanted bagpipes played at my funeral. Ten years later, I haven't changed my mind. Why did I share that story? Well, I had to explain the goosebumps - the #1 single on my birthdate was the Royal Scots Dragoon Guard's Pipes & Drums version of "Amazing Grace."

In "Curious George: TV miniseries?"

If you want to go in a different direction, HBO did a series years ago called "From the Earth to the Moon" about the Apollo program. I have the DVD set, but noticed recently they reran it on cable (Science Channel, maybe?). It was fantastic. Lots of NASA history and a great cast.

In "Test the Nation: Watch Your Language."

54 out of 70. That was interesting. An IQ test that requires me to listen to kids to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (badly). Somehow, I feel dumber for having taken the test.

In "Curious George: Musician's Deals Sites?"

petebest, have you looked on Craigslist? I found a ton of gear for sale in my town. Of course, there are plenty of shattered dreams in Nashvegas ... also, the #1 Google result for "music gear online" was Musician's Friend. But they didn't have any omnichords. Sorry.

I went to the zoo this week, where I took what I thought were some pretty darn good pictures of animals. I'm so crushed right now. Thanks for the excellent link, polychrome.

In "Wedding Dance Videos"

That video is the reason I found a wedding party doing Thriller. From there, it was just a goldmine of more wedding dances. I considered linking the prison one, and didn't. But it is worth checking out. Lazy bernockle, here's your link.

I'm also dragging in late, but with plenty of kudos for the three of you. That's a fine young'n you got there, mct. Congratulations!!

In "The Psychic Cat Of Death."

the two-year-old cat has been observed to be correct in 25 cases so far. It's a nursing home. My first thought was, odds are in the cat's favor, no matter whose bed he curls up on.

If traffic court is so conveniently located, I would pick a morning to sit back & observe, just to get a sense of what actually happens.

In "Curious George: Sucking it up"

From Darshon's link: 100 inches of static suction Oh, MY. *fans self, heavily* And the $2000 makes a lot more sense when you find out they're a government contractor.

In "The REAL Springfield."

VOL, did you go to the premiere?

In "Curious George: Sucking it up"

We have 2 cats, and I have longed for a vacuum that performed consistently and perfectly on getting both carpet and furniture clean. I've owned a Hoover & a Dirt Devil that never did the job well. I have finally found an excellent vacuum in the Dyson DC07. My Dyson has not been unreliable, ever. I love this thing. Love, love, love it. I agree it's a bit spendy, and it took me a while to work up the nerve to spend that much on a VACUUM, but I found a great deal at Target and used some wedding gift cards to get it. (also, being an accountant, I justified it on a per year cost - if I own it 10 years, that's really nothing to keep the carpets clean. I'm on Year 3 right now and haven't had a single problem with the machine yet.)

In "The final days: the Mayan end of time."

Mr. Mickey & I honeymooned in Mexico. It was interesting to learn from a tour guide that our wedding vows were good for only 8 more years.
