New York City Walk. From May 2002 - December 2004, Caleb Smith walked every single road in the whole of Manhattan - some 700 miles. He's documented the entire thing on his website, with some great pictures and fascinating trivia. His unaffected love for the city really brings it to life. Plus! Some interactive floaty pens!

  • Just to add to the melting pot... New York Noir and Sydney Suburb Walks (by a 90 year old).
  • This thread has excellent links! I went walking with the 90-year old after a quick peek at NYC, since I'd never seen Sydney. These folk don't believe in small sites, apparently.
  • psst beeswacky...he even visited my road in Yowie Bay in the south (wonga road).
  • If I'd only seen the Irish Hunger Memorial and the schist rock, it would have been worth it. But much more! Great link.
  • I have a floaty pen and the nurse's uniform comes right off!
  • Another site that just came onto my radar is NYC-architecture - well worth a visit for anyone interested. Great photos and articles - an awesome site actually. sorry BBFinnegan - it's just all of these things were found today and it seems a little silly not to associate them all in the one place.
  • Those virtual floaty pens ROCK.
  • Great links, great photos thanks
  • Don't worry about it. Fantastic link. Man, I'm gonna have to live in NY one day.
  • Lovely link.
  • Of possible related interest - Minneapolis Woman Walks Every Street In City. She finished about a month ago. If I recall correctly from her radio interview, she walked some of the rougher areas during winter months when fewer or no people were outside. The idea of doing something like this for Los Angeles sounds very difficult, but someone is trying. She started mid-May, with an ambitious plan of not returning to her home until she's walked the "whole of Los Angeles." Her recent video blogs, taken from a camera in a stroller, include South Central and the Valley.
  • Wow! Fantastic links!!
