SardineKing ...labels wanted...
  • hey, someone had to post something
  • Feesh she is very attractive. :-)
  • You did a fine job. You spared the MoFi society the Hardcastle & McCromick episode guide, which I was about to post if someone didn't post something before I got home from work.
  • It's bad link day at Mofi
  • Sardine sandwiches are ok, but I want to see the squid sandwich reviews. In the absence of abalone in California (sob,) squid is the next best. Or, maybe after fried oyster sandwiches. Mmmm, feesh!
  • What, pray tell, would make up a squid sandwich?
  • ranch dressing?
  • tracicle - I dunno, but would guess it would be either a calimari steak pounded into submission, breaded and fried, or rings and tentacles, breaded and fried and stacked on a bun with tarter sauce and whatever else. My lack of knowledge is the reason for wanting to see the (nonexistant) reviews. Since squidranch must raise the suckers, maybe he can tell us.
  • Heh, "suckers".
  • A proper squid sandwich consists of me between two pieces of well buttered bread. If you need photos, let me know.
  • I've always thought of you as a rancher of squid. Rounding 'em and gettin' 'em on, or whatever that song said. Taking them out to plankton pastures, caring for their tentacles, fattening them up in feed lagoons, living the good life.
  • It depends on the person, path. For some folks I represent (along with giant squid) all things squiddy. We embody squid. For others like yourself, I am a rancher of squid. As for a real recipie for calamari sandwich, I think it's pretty much what you summised. I actually went to the Monterey squid festival and I had a couple of squid sandwiches of the ilk which you describe. They were, in a word, delicious.
  • I prefer Angry Norwegianâ„¢ Brand Anchovies, myself..
  • Saedines are tasty little fish and likewise smelt can be delicious; I do not think of savage squid nor octopus as being fishes.
