New York Street Chalk Artists.
Someday a real rain will come and wash all this art off the streets.
  • The three dimensional look of some of those chalk paintings is amazing. I can imagine people sidestepping the pit one, not just to avoid stepping on art but to keep from falling down it. ;) When the rain is gone, we will still have photos.
  • Wonderful! Thanks, chrismoore.
  • Awesome 3D
  • More here (by a different artist). Though I wonder what all this stuff must look like from any other angle, where the perspective would be off.
  • The Pope has an interesting signature (via Reuven's link). I wonder what the asterisk means. And how weird that he liked that guys chalk mural so much that he wanted to, um, sign it.
  • Very nice. I don't think those can all be in New York, though, chrismoore - surely not the one with John Major and (I think) Paddy Ashdown falling down a well
  • Good spot Plegmund
  • The previous link seems to have incorrectly named them as New York drawings - most seem to have been done in Britain. on preview - what Plegmund said.
  • sorry - I meant to post that in the New Thread. And got confused between the two. Never mind. I'm only months behind.
  • Damnit, now I got confused between the two threads! Curse you evil sidebar! [tho, in all honesty, I do love you] I saw an amazing work-in-progress a couple summers back on 7th Avenue/13th Street-ish, Manhattan. Every day on my way home from work, I would stop and watch the artist work the chalk methodically in calculated steps... The final product was a Baroque-ish looking religious figure reaching outwards... Quite amazing. Wish I had me one of them digital camera things back then.
