Degrassi + Kevin Smith = Messed Pants. If you live in Canada, you're smack dab in the middle of a three-parter of Canada's highest rated television series, Degrassi: the Next Generation, which features Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, and even Alanis Morissette, who have all captured our hearts as the stars of Clerks and its many award winning sequels. In the three-part story arc, Jay and Silent Bob are introduced to the series as directors looking for locations to shoot their new film, called Jay and Silent Bob Go Canadian, Eh? and they get into wacky hijinks with the characters of the middle school drama series. Rumor has it Smith has wild fat man sex with Caitlyn Ryan from Degrassi High. More info at Kevin Smith's website. Shit, this is awesome.

Hopefully there will be a bunch of kickass Spinner and Jason Mewes scenes. Maybe they will double team up on Paige or Manny.

  • This is the most awesome thing EVAR.
  • When will this be on in the US? Must. See!
  • I wish Degrassi: The Next Generation would be shown on another network in the US besides the lame The N. If we get to see these Kevin Smith episodes it'll be this summer probably.
  • I think it has already aired. I hear it's awful. Just because it derives from something great & is popular doesn't mean it's going to be good. Most TV on the French CBC confirms that.
  • Nice post, pigfucker!
  • hey I'm fat you bastard
  • I watched the first episode last Monday, and it was really depressing. Smith was written in as all smooth and cool, which I don't buy. And the show itself is appalling, especially to a hard-core original Degrassi fan such as myself. It doesn't deserve to carry the Degrassi name. ...still, I might watch the next two episodes; I heard Smith gets to kiss Caitlin (I doubt they'd get it on, though, apparently she's hooked up with Joey again or something). Anyway, seeing someone live out the dream of kissing Caitlin is too good to pass up. It's not like I ever wanted to kiss Caitlin, or anything...
  • I actually really like the current version of Degrassi. You have to get into it (and admit that, as an adult, you enjoy watching a kid's show). I was also a big fan of the original, which used to air on PBS in the US.
  • Good Degrassi or bad Degrassi. Just kill Jay and Silent Bob. Please.
  • For any Toronto area monkeys: Smith and Mewes are supposed to be on the Q107 morning show tomorrow (Monday).
