TROGDOR!!!! I have recently become hip to the glory that is Trogdor. It seems this (currently unfinished but promising) plush incarnation follows in a long line of t-shirts, computer games, die-cast models, lego creations, primitive drawings, and pop culture references.
  • And Trogdor smote the kerrek and all was laid to burnination! Andrew was sporting a Trogdor shirt in the last season of Angel as well...
  • I could have sworn I searched once upon a time for this and found a link, but now of course I can't find it. Oh well. Trogdor certainly does rock.
  • Only other reference I found was this
  • Unfortunately, the video that the last link links to seems to be down - maybe it was overwhelmed. I really wanted to see that bit again.
  • All homestarrunner stuff got old a long time ago. It was popular around a year and half ago, but it went downhill and is no longer funny. (I used to think Trogdor was funny, but you can only see it a few times before it gets annoying)
  • I don't think it was meant as wisdom for the ages.
  • Let's put one of those big beefy arms back there for good measure...
  • Camel, I'm afraid you're incorrect. Homestarrunner is still funny, and Trogdor is forever excellent.
  • ...and the Trogdor comes in the NIIIIIGHT!!! /thrash metal scream
  • Well, I think Camel touches on a point that the Homestarrunner team has, some weeks, been stretched for ideas and some of the 'catch phrases' they come up with aren't so catchy (Thnikkaman, anyone?). But how can you say no to the Cheat Commandos? They rock, rock on! Oh, and I've never really bought into the whole notion of a time limit on whether something's cool or not--not that this should be taken for a reason to bring back parachute pants or anything. I mean, I used to collect old radio programs like The Shadow and Fibber McGee and Molly and those are so 60 years ago. Glad you discovered the majesty of Trogdor, blank!
  • Strong Bad is still my boyfriend.
  • I'm just waiting for h*r slash/fanfic. You know it's going to happen at some point. I'll be there laughing my ass off when it does.
  • yeah, I don't get Strongbad either. It is midly amusing, but I don't understand why the people over at Fark get a boner every time a new episode is released.
  • I'm a fan, but I've always been curious how sites like Homestar Runner and the like make money. I remember the demise of the great brunchingshuttlecocks.com due to lack of money. How do these guys keep it up? Is it all run on t shirt and sales, because there isn't any advertising. Even if they have a few week episodes, I just hope that they keep on doing what they are doing. It's hard enough to keep that sort of quality up while you are getting paid, much less when you are just doing it for fun.
  • weak episodes
  • I read an interview with the Bros Chaps in which they reveal the t-shirt sales are crazy. Something like they started out in their parents' spare bedroom and it grew to three extra rooms plus the garage in two years, until they got warehouse space for it. They're always adding new products so I'd assume the h*r store is doing quite well.
  • Glad to hear they are doing well. I am sort of tired of people dissing on these guys and other sites like them. Lets face it, these are folks that are working to entertain us, most of the time for little or no pay. Lets see you guys try to come up with something halfway watchable every week.
  • Merchandice sales are pretty much the bread and butter for any popular art now-a-days. Sites like penny arcade and diesel sweeties while featuring ads make their living with merchandice. Music acts make gobs more money on merchandice than their record sales.
  • Oooo, so lovely! The prospect of burination sets my spinitis a-quiver! Thanks, blankx23!
  • I saw "burin" on first view also. I blame this on my upbringing in an engraveyard.
  • One Year Update I just reviewed the original Trogdor e-mail and I decree it: Still Funny. So there, camel.
  • In my new top game, Guild Wars, there are two fire-spells called "Mark of Rodgort" and "Rodgort's Invocation" that set people on fire. Doesn't seem to have any effect on thatched roof cottages, though.
