Watergate prosecutor Archibald Cox dead at 92 I remember that bow tie when I was a kid. Life was so innocent in those days.
  • What? Nobody remembers Archibald Cox?!?
  • I remember Archibald Cox. But life was certainly not innocent. Watergate, Vietnam, the oil embargo, skyrocketing crime rates (violent crime in the US peaked in the mid 1970's), the Weathermen, race riots in the big cities, the first use of the term 'war on drugs', rising inflation and unemployment, collapse of the 1960's stock market tech boom, and finally the expansion of the Soviet empire into Afghanistan and the embassy takeover in Tehran. And that's just stuff involving the US. Not innocent. But yeah, Archibald Cox was one of the good guys, and it's sad to see him go.
