  • I wholeheartedly support College Radio and have since I was in college in the '70s, doing a Sunday Night "Dr. Demento Clone" Show (because every L.A. college station had one and I had the best collection of comedy records) at KXLU, which I am happy to see is ON THE MAP, representin' for L.A. It's nice to see they still devote the Saturday & Sunday daytime hours to the Spanish Language "Alma Del Barrio" and they no longer devote 4 hours every weeknight to Classical Music - when I was there, they had ONE person who knew enough to program the hours... and hey, Stella is still doing the "Stray Pop" show? If that's the same Stella, she's been there since a couple years after I left! But then, some people never want to graduate from College Radio (if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have). Up here at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's KCPR (which is not on the list ONLY because its streaming uses the wrong format), MetaFilterite 'filthy light thief' was Station Manager his Senior year, 10 years ago, and still goes back to do a weekly Electronica/Techno show on Sunday Mornings. (I keep telling him it's the right format in the WRONG timeslot) But the station's most famous alumni is a guy who also did a "Dr. Demento clone" show but also used the studios to record his own early music - Weird Al Yankovic. This map just scratches the surface of College Radio. There are a lot of other stations out there not on the list because they're streaming wrong or only going part-time. Any other U.S. monkeys know of some they can recommend???
  • WKDU is MP3 audio streamed out of Drexel University in Philly. Their slogan: *None of the hits, all of the time*
  • Oops. They DID map that one, but with small letters.
