In a post-natural world, can the machine elves recreate nature? Nature and unreality interpenetrate in the nano-macro-engineering projects depicted in Michael Shaw's art. Enjoy!

But at what cost? Billious fumes from an earth transformed to Rebuilding the Quarries...And what was he thinking when he drew The Melting of Habbakuk? A reference to the Habbakuk Project which was to create an Allied Aircraft carrier out of Iced wood pulp on the North Sea? Beauty in technical absurdity... Like that fish with the transparent head!

  • Schall, I mean. Michael Schall, not Shaw. I'm peck typing and medicated with a broken wrist.
