Melted bricks
(they would only be 'molten' if still liquid, right?)
This reminds me of an occasion when the brick kilns my father used to manage ran out of control and got so hot they melted a few of the new bricks at the back, resulting in a strange brittle substance.

Like the site owner says in his comment, that is creepy. Astonishing, and interesting, but seriously creepy. The place looks organic and alive, and evil, like it is actively out to get you. And digest you. *shudders*
