The 'Altin Mikrofon' Contest (1965-68) "The musicians who wanted to attend the contest had to either compose songs in Turkish or arrange a traditional tune. Also they had to perform this in a western style with electric western instruments!".

Great sounds, with outfits to match. The links are somewhat haphazard but often lead to strange and delightful places. I've pulled out a couple of samples to taste. Siluetler, Haramiler.

  • When I was 12 I began writing a fantasy novel.. The godhead was named Altin.. Just something I made up. Every time I see that word in another context it gives me the chills.
