Caught this when it made the rounds a bit ago. It usually doesn't happen today, but I think Stewart is trying to do something similar with his interviews on The Daily Show. Sometimes, I think he's actually a bit too friendly; gotta keep the guests coming and all that. I don't really want him to be an attack dog either, though. It seems he's hit a nice in between lately. I was very pleased when he took Douglas Feith to task the other night. I felt the schadenfreude. It was appreciated.
