Blind Irishman sees with the aid of son's tooth in his eye. Posted for the title, by the title, and nothing but the title.
  • Amazing. Although it works, the result apparently doesn't look like a normal eye - see pictures here. Picture 1 is a useful explanation.
  • There's a tooth in your eye, And I'm wondering why, For it never should be there at all. With such a hole in your smile, Sure a stone you'd beguile, So there's never a teardrop should fall. When your sweet lilting laughter's Like some fairy song, And your eyes twinkle bright as can be; You should laugh all the while And all other times smile, And now, smile a smile for me. When Irish eyes are smiling, Sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring. In the lilt of Irish laughter You can hear the angels sing. When Irish hearts are happy, All the world seems bright and gay. And when Irish eyes are smiling, Sure, they steal your heart away. with shame in my heart Chauncey Olcott and George Graff, Jr, but I could not resist
  • "I thought I was going to be blind for the rest of my life. I went to see a professor in Nottingham who was involved in stem cell research and he transplanted some embryonic membrane, but it did not work." Of course it did not work. You could not see the professor because you were blind.
  • Wow. Having been mostly blind and regained sight myself (juvenile cataracts + proliferative diabetic retinopathy), I know just how he feels. I felt like Saint fucking Paul. It'd be worth looking like the Terminator. And I know my family would have lined up to donate a tooth like his did (although my family has pretty bad teeth in general). In related news, the two most disturbing words in the English language: Eyeball. Tattoo.
  • This schematic may also help you visualize the procedure.
  • Huwaaaaaaaaaaaa?
  • I have yet to really process the headline to this story, much less delve into the actual details...not sure I am ready yet....
  • They used the son's canine tooth--aren't they the ones they call the eye teeth? We live in an amazing world.
  • Having been mostly blind and regained sight myself Gosh. *hug*
  • Aw! *hugs back* BTW, a blind Irishman is caled a "Blirishman."
