Mathematically Challenged George . Fellow simians, I need at least twenty monkeys to answer a simple survey question to complete the take-home part of my math exam. After I correlate your answers, I'll post a copy of the lovely three color Venn diagram I intend to draw to illustrate this information. As an additional incentive, I will also post my exam grade when completed. Please, Monkeys, can you hope me?

Do you read any, or a combination of any, of the following three links on a regular basis? (regular being more than once every two weeks) The Washington Post MetaFilter icanhascheezburger none Please note down any of the choices that apply to you, or note none. Correctly answered responses are absolutely necessary for this survey to have any validity and get me a decent grade. As a certified and committed mathphobe who has put off taking M 124:BoneHead Math for Liberal Art Majors for ten years, till my youngest daughter threatened to kick my butt if I didn't finish this last class and graduate, I appreciate your contribution in the cause of science.

  • first! NONE.
  • Not first! I read WaPo and Meta on a fairly regular basis. What on earth kind of math class is this anyway that incorporates the LOLcat meme?
  • metafilter. (Besides my local paper, I read several news aggregaters, which sometimes feature something from the Post, but I don't seek the paper out.) I'm glad you weren't asking for answers to specific math problems. (Off topic, I posted a link to a wonderful horse/rider performance on you "wake me up" thread. No saddle, no reins, and it was perfect enough to make me tear up. If you haven't seen it,you should check it out.)
  • BH, I look at metafilter & ICHC everyday but never wapo.
  • can't wait to see the ven diagram :)
  • metafilter and icanhaz. SHAMELESS SELF LINK
  • Only MeTa for me.
  • I read Mefi maybe once every two weeks, Wapo maybe 2x per week (Froomkin's column), cheez never. I spend most of my internet time scraping and sorting your credit card purchases. Why do you spend so much at EroticGoat.com?
  • MeFi and I read WaPo articles, but usually linked from other sites/e-mails. I hardly ever just go to WaPo and start reading.
  • Metafilter Probably the WaPo, but you know, the aggregator thing. Fuck that cheeseburger shit.
  • metafilter. i need to get out more
  • icanhascheezburger. I likes kittehs.
  • Ralph, Froomkin is about the best thing in the post- I'm glad someone reads him besides me.
  • none (putting monkeyfilter in there would have gotten yu more yesses)
  • MeFi and WaPo via alligators for me.
  • All three.
  • None. (Ask Mefi doesn't count, I assume?)
  • None.
  • None!
  • MetaFilter icanhascheezburger
  • Metafilter.
  • MetaWeenies Washington Toast If you don't mind, may I have a cheeseburger?
  • wapo and icanhasblahblahblah
  • none
  • Nope, nope, nope.
  • Mefi only.
  • icanhascheezburger
  • none (I visit all of them occasionally, but not every two weeks)
  • MeFi only.
  • Metafilter regularly (member under a different name) WaPo if linked to and it seems interesting - so maybe once a week or so Always thought the last was a meme, never heard of the website, so never visited, and likely to remain that way.
  • Metafilter
  • Metafilter. WaPo only when linked there or here. (The cats can't die fast enough IMO.)
  • MetaFilter, and the others when they're linked from somewhere else.
  • WaPo for me!
  • (Pssstttt...she's just trying to figure out who here is a regular at MeFi!)
  • (Pssstttt...she's just trying to figure out who here is a regular at MeFi!) posted by Lara at 05:41PM UTC on February 14, 2008 Bingo!!!-We have a winner.
  • I haven't paid five bucks and never will, if that's what you mean, GranMa.
  • O HAI, I is read all three. Kthxbye!
  • Me Fi Mo Fo, I smell the blood of a skanky ho.
  • Not you, GramMa. I just needed a cheap rhyme.
  • I read MeFi every day, right after MoFi
  • None. Now, if only you had posted a math-related site, the answer might have been different.
  • mefi daily ichcb once a week wapo... once in a while
  • Ahhh, you guyz are the schizznizztz!!! I lubs you all. Cheeseguy gets the 'first' prize, which is...whatever. Kamus, all I needed to do was come up with a survey involving three items in my Universal Set, and I figured one of the three of Wapo, MeFi, or the LOLCats would have to appeal to our rather...eclectic membership. As is, I have lovely, lovely responses to do my project with. (The prof said no one had ever surveyed by posting to the net before--go figger! She was also rather bemused by all the links except WaPo. Poor thing has never read a BS news filter before.) Path, that is a GREAT link! Thanks. Graybeard, me too. MoFi, MeFi, LOLCats, email, and outta here. Speedlime, mothy, gomi, flongj, TUM: Care to help me pile it on rocket and nick? Perhaps we could rub a kitten on them until we induce static electricity shock therapy. That should cure the kittehate. Capt. R, I haven't paid five bucks either. There was a time...but then they pissed me off. I still read MoFi, but couldn't be arsed to comment. This place is way more fun anyway. Thanks Trac, for making the place just like home.
  • GET YOUR FEET OFF THE COFFEE TABLE! Okay, now it feels like home.
  • Bah! Stupid cats can't even spell.
  • MeFi only (of those three)
  • I'd like to help with the hostile kitten rubbing therapy.
  • WaPo, if I haven't missed the deadline.
  • /holds nickdanger down and rubs MIZPELED KITTEH GUDNESS ALL OVER HIM ...Rocket88, you're next!
  • DO NOT WANT
  • Metafilter and ICHC. No WAPO, I just wait for the important/interesting/lurid stuff to bubble up.
  • I CAN HAS BURLAP SAK FILD WIT ROX?
  • LOLroket!!1
  • But... but... What about TEH KITTEHS? Won't somebody please think of TEH KITTEHS?
  • I'll think about teh kittehs as long as I can think about burlap sak at the same time.
  • Damnit a math question comes along and I too late.
  • WaPo five times a day, and Meta five times a week. So, there.
  • EGGHEAD LIKES HIS BOOKY-WOOK
  • You guys are great! Now, all I have to do is get the math done to hand in on Tuesday. Did the in-class part of the test Thursday. Think I did ok, but realized after I left I treated the Mayan number system (base 20 variation) as an additive system rather than a multiplicative system. Just plain forgot what I actually knew (damn my old brain!) Although I'm not so sure this will come in handy in the future...
  • Don't worry, GranMa -- pollution from Montana's mining will make you grow ten more fingers soon enough, and you'll be way ahead of everybody...
  • WaPo and MeFi, yes. ICHC, no. (though I've probably missed the deadline)
