What I learned about network television at Dateline NBC. By John Hockenberry, who was the first host of NPR's Talk of the Nation and is now a Distinguished Fellow at the MIT Media Lab.
  • Great link, HW! Hockenberry's been a favorite of mine after I read his autobiography. Fun fact: Hockenberry's in a wheelchair, and when he first got started on public radio (right out of college, I think) he refused to wear shoes because he thought they were unnecessary (he didn't really use his feet). He bought shoes when he found out he was known around as "that guy in the socks."
