The Chairman Smiles
is a nice selection of Soviet, Chinese, and Cuban posters from the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam. If that merely whets your appetite there are many more from Cuba and elsewhere here, and by way of a bonus, Spanish Civil War posters here.
-
I thought I loved those old Soviet posters the best, but those Cuban ones are trippy! Far out post, comrade!
-
Yeah, the Cuban ones got a bit psychadelic in the '60's, didn't they? The figure in this Soviet one is vaguely reminiscent of an old Russain ikon, especially the head and the fabric draping.
-
*grunts* Those posters were the Sixties, my wee monkeylets.

*bookmarks for use towards future t-shirts* Copyright, schmopyright. To each according to his need.
-
Hey, I ber we could find someone to base some tame, bland artwork on these... ;-)
-
Now that's progress.
-
Luv this stuff. Good find.

What HW said. For anyone who's interested, here's the creator of the iconic Che poster. This was a big surprise to me, as most of Fitzpatrick's stuff is of the fantasy/celtic mysticism variety.
