  • I liked it.
  • *bong gurgle*
  • That'll never do: the floor doesn't have FLOORFLOORFLOORFLOORFLOOR written on it.
  • Well, since my eyeballs just exploded, I guess I can be a double pirate.
  • Finally an accurate representation of what it looks like in here. Better of course if it had all been done in 1's and 0's.
  • Cool! I did notice that there isn't a doorknob, although that was probably on purpose. Also, who has a commode in their bedroom?!
  • I always hate when something is linked to in a cute, non-descriptive way. This is the first time that I've that it was the best way to link. I don't think that's really a commode, despite what it says. Since a commode is a whole room, not a piece of furniture.
  • A picture worth a thousand words. Too cool. Thanks.
  • A whole room? My understanding is that a commode is a chair with a built-in potty (ie a pot for pooping and weeing in - sorry but I just want to make sure my cultural references are not opaque). However, I believe it can also be a synonym for 'sideboard', a low cupboard on legs. This makes sense because the original function of a sideboard was to contain potties (for... uh, you get the idea). I understand in the 18th century people would just pop over to the sideboard, take out a pot, do what they needed, and then put it back for the servants to deal with. Here, no doubt, we have a poopless, potless cupboard on legs.
  • You're right, darling.
  • Reminds me of sheets that I had as a kid that had the word "sleep" printed all over them. It seemed to work because when I went to bed at night, I did actually sleep. Note to self, make sheets with the words "sex" written all over them.
  • darling is Lovejoy in disguise!
  • squid, send me a set of those sheets please!!
  • It's like the Matrix.

  • I think the original piece of furniture denoted by "commode" was a small cabinet or chest of drawers. It was a handy or convenient piece of furniture for storing documents etc. The later meaning was a handy place to keep your chamber pot. Commode means "useful" or "usable" or "appropriate to the task" and has similar roots as commodity and accommodate.
  • As my GrandMa always said, "The commode is in the lavatory... the coat tree is in the vestibule!" *applauds roryk*
  • Lovejoy in disguise! Not sure what it means, but by gollys I like the sound of it...
