Go Go

Play go go game

  • thanks, i like go.
  • Can you play Go on a pole?
  • I'm really frickin' awesome at chess, and I beat most humans and computers that I play, but I can't figure out Go. I've lost every single game of Go I've ever played. I even know a little strategy (get the corners) but I still can't beat the simplest players. In every game that looks like I'm going to win, the board suddenly changes to all the other players colors in like 5 moves. It's really frustrating.
  • Computers are very good at chess. Mr Knickerbocker wrote: I'm really frickin' awesome at chess Computers aren't very good at Go. Mr Knickerbocker wrote: I can't figure out Go Mr Knickerbocker, WHO ARE YOU?????
  • But seriously, thanks for the links Skrik! Can't say i've played much but I love the simplicity of the game's rules
  • The learning curve is very steep. I'm very bad against good people but very good against bad people.
  • I'm very bad against good people but very good against bad people. Well I'm pretty lawful against neutral people, but chaotic against lawful people. But if you keep changing your alignment like that you'll never get enough experience points to make it to second level.
  • Can you just shut up and roll me a familiar already?
  • And if I'm a chaotic person? What then? HMMM?!?!
  • *wields +4 Face of Handsomeness*
  • Go is a great game. If you like it interactively, this might be the way to go.
  • That is a great web site Klue, thanks. I got as far as 43 kyu. *bows* Now who wants their ass kicked?
  • Atari. . . aaaand I'm spent!
  • I play go off and on, never managed to attain any real skill at it. Play on KGS these days as ThickSkull.
  • Actually, not even THAT ^ cheaply, as I've just discovered "Shin kaya" means "fake Kaya". So, keep saving up, Go-masters.
  • Um, I plundered a slate quarry, some sand, and a tree that was probably planted for the express purpose of becoming a cheap Go board (Korean shin-kaya). But I do like my 8" floorboard. Somehow I don't care that its not from a rare tree.
  • Also, gnu-go plugs in nicely to Jago and plays a mean (overly agressive) game if you don't want to be embarassed by your lack of 20-kyu prowess.
  • Sorry, that was supposed to say GnuGo plugs into Jago. Missed the preview button.
  • Also Samarkand's boards are a bit more reasonable, thats where I picked mine up.
  • Man, I always mix up Go with Othello. It's Othello that I suck really bad at. I've never played Go.
  • Many computers have never played Go.
  • A common tree? Of less than 500 years? No endangered giant clams for the stones? Ha! You must be a very poor Go player.
  • Mr. Knickerbocker is a reverse Turing machine.
  • Anyone playing on KGS these days?
