The fifty best places to drink beer in America
  • That's a damn good idea.
  • Shoutout to Albany. Mahar's is awesome.
  • That should read "The fifty best brewpubs in America"... As long as no place in New Orleans is listed, this list is a sham.
  • Heh heh, they didn't get my favorite. Good!
  • As long as you're not too concerned with things like 'hygene' or 'selection', McSorley's remains the King, as far as I'm concerned. (For a mid-afternoon or right-from-work drink -- the night crowd is a little silly.) Two choices -- light, or dark. Permanent happy hour. Sawdust on the floor to soak up spills and puke. Heat from a coal-fired stove. Old pictures of Al Smith and Teddy Roosevelt and RFK caked with dust. Surly bartenders, dressed in garbage bags as they wash fifty mugs at a time in a big, unchanging tub of water. Fantastic!
  • there's a mcsorley's in ranelagh, dublin. it's okay, iirc. can't find a web site, though.
  • This list is a sham. Not one place in Austin? Good. Means more beer for me.
  • Dog and Duck, yo.
  • Geez, did they even make it out to the Pacific Northwest or the Southwest at all, or did their beer budget run out before then? Seems pretty East Coast slanted to me.
  • Yeah, this ought to be called the "Interstate 80 Beer Guide". I guess the GA and FL token inclusion would be for someone wintering in Florida with a stopover in Atlanta. Not to pick on the FPP itself, it's just a myopic list. No kidding about Austin... that's beer haven!
  • The Great Dane may have good beer, but everyone living in Madison knows that the best place to have a beer there is sitting outside at the terrace.
  • Good. Portland, OR is still a secret to these folks. More for me. Suckers.
  • it's just a myopic list Well, duh. Of course it's myopic, it was posted thru beer glasses.
