Bits o' lives o' others: So yeah, I'm a sucker for decent photography, but I'm no expert. However, some nifty slide shows [flash] are too neat to pull away from, and I'm always interested in pics of geologic stuff like the Giant's Causeway (how else do giants get around?). But this, my friends, is the best photo series you'll see all day: Pug Still Life Series (created by my pal Dave, who works at my favorite kitsch shop, Archie McPhee).
  • The pug pictures are cool. That's a good dog!
  • Roscoe is a good, old dog. And, apparently, he drinks only out of the bathtub faucet.
  • Hi, nunia, and welcome, new monkey! The Pug Still Life Series is my favorite, although the Giant's Causeway is also very picturesque.
  • Thanks bees! Indeed, I like me some columnar basalt, but I like me some disinterested pug more.
  • I wish my dog would sit there and get his picture took like that. He runs away when he hears the camera turn on ;)
  • I have a friend who is babysitting a 6 week young pug puppy for some friends that paid $600 for it. Apparently if you bump them on the head, their eyeballs pop out of their sockets and roll around on the floor. Why wouldn't anyone want a REAL dog? (and the adoption fee at the pound is less than 75 smackers)
  • At first I thought you said "REAL doll*," but then I picked the boogers out of my eyes and read it again. $600 buys you an inbred, short-lived critter, and $75 gets you the outbread, long-lived critter. I think the choice is oblivious. I mean, obvious. Yes. *I'd have linked to the Real Doll site, but I'm too much a coward.
  • Pug pictures? Don't you mean pug-tures?
  • This has long bee a favourite of mine (warning - Anglefire). I like putting the bee pug against 'The Flight Of The Bumble Bee'. IT MAKES ME SMILE A BIT
  • I find pugs creepy, but things like this make them grow on me. Meditative Pug with Bread is my favorite.
  • Rescue dogs are the best. I got the Steve from a shelter, and he's the greatest dog of all time (despite his aforementioned hatred of the camera... this is one of the few pictures I could get of him). I'm pretty sure he's a pug/chihuahua mix, which makes him a pretty interesting and silly guy. The only thing that really bugs me is that he doesn't seem to mind things sticking to his eyeball, leading to the nickname "hairy eyeball." Today he has... something on his eye, and he won't let me take care of it. He can still see fine, and I'm definitely keeping a close watch. /overprotective dog mom who's too willing to spill icky details
  • Ooh, Steve's a handsome fella!
  • Don't you mean pug-tures? Don't get punny on me. It makes me weak at the knees. ------------------------ IT MAKES ME SMILE A BIT I think you mean that. I really do. I like the one in the flower pot. Way much cute. ------------------------ I find pugs creepy, but things like this make them grow on me. Yeah, they are a bit creepy, but not nearly as bad as others. ------------------------ Steve's not disinterested...he's simply not amused. But that tie is fabulous, Mr. Hat.
  • Thanks, TUM and nunia!
