Smoke pot, smoke pot, everybody smoke pot... A new study finds, to it's and everyone else's surprise, that even heavy use of marijuana does not increase the incidence of lung cancer-- in fact, it may be somewhat preventative.

  • I don't understand why people use other drugs. Marijuana doesn't even make you feel good, it just makes you feel really tranquil and content. How perfect is that? Now we find it doesn't even destroy your body. Someone was telling me the other day the heavy meth users have to relearn the ability to feel happy. I feel that if marijuana were legalized, and if people used it half as liberally as they used alcohol or nicotine, nobody would feel the need to seek out anything harder. I hate stoner culture but goddamn, herb is one of the best things our sweet lord has provided. Not that I use, posess or encourage its use.

  • the only way I can stand the feeling of THC in my body is thru injestion (preferably of a scrumptious brownie...) I'm just not a marijuana person. that said, I have had the opportunity to observe that is seems more benign, potentially positive, non-destructive than alcohol fo' shizzle, and compared to the horrific ravages of something like meth, its a frolic in health paradise. so I guess what I am saying is smoke if you've got it :)

  • I find it hard to believe that inhaling lots of combustion products from anything can be all that healthy, but if thats what the study shows (and it can be replicated independently). So now will somebody do a study on incense, so I can not feel uneasy about breathing partially burnt sandalwood?

  • Are we finished with the lame jokes about stoners? How is this any different than stereotyping any other person's lifestyle choices? I've never seen people act that way in 18 years of smoking cannabis. Some get the munchies, but this whole shaggy & scooby thing is lame. What if I were to start laming on rednecks & horse lovers? You'd be surprised at the high-functioning professionals who smoke pot. Before his (unrelated) death, Carl Sagan was an avid smoker, for instance.
