The Doors - Puzzle This is a bit like The Dark Room and Crimson Room and um, the other one. You require FLASH. Click on stuff, collect objects to find your way out of a bunch of rooms. Somewhat annoying musical effects.

I'm stumped at the second room. Found at Backwards City

  • You mean the room with the clock? You'll find that you can manipulate the hour hand of the clock with your mouse. Try moving it around a bit. I'm stuck on the last room, can't figure out the cards - the ones with strange symbols.
  • Finished it! *Does Happy Dance*
  • Thanks for posting this, At Swim. (meant both sarcastically and seriously). Alnedra, do you have any hints regarding the radio?
  • Fun, but much easier than most "escape" games. Or maybe I'm getting smarter.
  • Hint? Uh. Check the rest of that scene?
  • Now that I have Jim Morrison what do I do with him?
  • Light his fire?
  • Sigh, I always take so long with these things. Alnedra, I got that part, I just thought the radio was important. Thanks anyway! :o)
  • Not a bad idea rocket, I'll give it a go. *rubs Ray Manzarek and John Densmore together vigorously*
  • I'm not sure I like being inconscious.
  • found everything in R1, missing one thing in R0, and I can't get into the other rooms. it was easy to this point, but now I'm stumped. And there's a horrible persistent organ ringing in my ears...
  • I have clicked on every damn thing in R0 and I still can't find that stinkin piece. I must be dumber than a box of rocks.
  • you and me both, Hotcakes.
  • Hotcakes and patita, check the furnace between the two doors in the first room for the piece.
  • damn, I'd been clicking the thing over and over, just not in the right spot. whee! thanks, Cincinatus!
  • Oops. Sorry, minda.
  • I have got through 8 rooms, but now I am trapped because I just cant convince the creepy middle-aged bohemian woman at the end of the bar that her conception of Jim Morrison as a "great poet" is ridiculous....
  • Eight rooms?! Ack! I'm still stuck on 3! :op
  • now it's just fiddling with the cards and wondering if the other bits of letter are important (still missing 2)...
  • not really 8 rooms... it was a setup for the Jim Morrison joke. (yeah there are already like 3 others in this thread but what the hell) I havent played it at all since i'm at work.
  • Look around. If you're already in the fifth (fourth? Kitcheny looking one) room, you should have the four corners. Try looking at the floorboards, clicking on shelves, drawers etc....
  • <cry for help>and, er, how would one go about turning a room downside up..?</cry for help>
  • there's a bit to find in the upside down room that should lead you in the right direction.
  • apart from the polaroid, i can find nothing in the upside down room. i tried using the polaroid inscription to open the safe deposit box using a simple substitution, but no joy with that. is there something else findable in the upside down room?
  • polaroid inscription is the key--dial it like a phone number. some digits repeat, it's OK.
  • thank you patita!
  • now go on and figure out the correct order of the cards, so you can tell me! :)
  • ))) thank you patita.
  • I've tried every logical combo I can think of, no luck so far.
  • Minda25. Doors.
  • OK, got the safe open, but now what? I can't get into the final room off of Room 0, and I can't open the closet in Room 3. Am I missing something obvious?
  • jaypro: have you looked everywhere in room 3? Are you in room 4 yet?
  • Doors. Yep. They are there. Still can't get the combination.
  • Me, too oflinkey - I've tried every door order I could find, no luck. The thing that sucks is I'm sure it's a simple concept, just very cleverly hidden.
  • minda - I thought I looked everywhere. I have the card from room 3 and 4 pieces of the letter. I can't figure out how to open the closet or go anywhere else.
  • Never mind - just figured it out
  • jaypro22, did you find the box in room 3?
  • :o)
  • Ugh. I've got everything except for the middle part of the letter, I can't get those damn cards to get in the right order to make a box, and now it's time to go home, where there's no internet. See you all in the morning! :o)
  • Ok, last hint and I'm outta here. Don't click on the doors, look at them.
  • Just beat it... holla back if'n you're probleming out...
  • Can't get out of the kitchen, Giant Squid,. I seem to be missing a box.
  • I've got the cube put together, and the cards from r0 and r1, and 2 pieces of the letter, and I can't get ANYWHERE or do ANYTHING! How do you get out of R1?????
  • Okay, I can't figure out how to get the cube put together. At all. I know people have said look at the doors, but yeah. I just can't get it.
  • If you get all the pieces of the cube (3) it will put itself together. SOMEONE HELP ME OUT OF R1! There's nothing else to find or do, and I'm just...stuck.
  • what tennenho said.
  • Squid, minda, alnedra...anyone? He'p me?
  • Wait, no, I meant the cross shaped thing. I can't get it to fold.
  • tennenho, apparently the symbols on the doors match the cards that we have picked up, but I can't seem to get the cards to do anything to the doors.
  • righto...I've noticed the similaritites, but am similarly paralyzed.
  • toohep: so how did you even get to that point?
  • This is going to keep me up all night...
  • Okay. What room are you guys in?
  • I'm in room 1...
  • the first two. I have all the pieces of the box and have put it together and have two cards along with two pieces of the letter. I just can't find a way out of those first two rooms.
  • What squid said...
  • Okay. SPOILER BELOW you need to drag the cube to the odd shaped "holder" next to the door in the room with the tv.
  • OH YE GODS WHAT ORDER DO i PUT THE CARDS IN
  • I, too, am unable to fold the cross.
  • ack... I have everything and the box from room three. How do I get to room 4? I dont see any more holder thingies.
  • check under the cabinet in room three kimdog.
  • erm. Never mind.
  • anyone found the second card from r2?
  • WOOHOO...DONE!!!Now I can sleep!
  • I can't get the combo to work on the safe. I punched in the number and the four letters like a telephone, and no worky.
  • Never mind. Moron had his resolution too high and couldn't read it properly.
  • It's five letters, mct. I think you are misreading one.
  • on post view, nevermind
  • I can't figure out the last room
  • Ok... I tried to resist coming back here. Is that last piece of the letter in room 4? I have clicked every pixel and can't find the damn thing.
  • well I did it, thanks for the hints....
  • Oh thank god, I am done. Night all. Nifty lil puzzle.
  • Now I'm stuck on the cross.
  • I'm stuck there too, mct. I tried using the tab button to find stuff to click on, but I've already clicked everything.
  • You can put the cards on the cross, but I can't find the damn order. I also can't find the final letter fragment, but I think that'll come after you solve the cross puzzle.
  • Oh, now that I know that, the order is easy. Notice the symbols on the doors?
  • Ah, finally figured it out. I saw the symbols, but hadn't made the proper connection yet.
  • Alright- somebody toss another hint, pliz! I've been staring at those symbols for hours.
  • fish tick. If you want a walkthrough you can go here. Just scroll down to the large red spoiler box near the bottom of the page, and put your mouse over it - it will uncover the full walkthrough for you, including the order to put the symbol cards on the open box. If you just want a hint: Take careful note of the symbols representing the rooms you go through... compare to the cards, and follow the pattern/order... (Hmm... that will probably confuse rather than help. I've never been good at hints. Posting other people's walkthrough's, yes. Hints, no.) BTW - This is how memes spread. I've seen it in the last day or so posted at Linkfilter, then Metafilter, then Unfiction Forums, and now here :) I bet it's at Memepool/Fark/Viewropa/Del.icio.us within the week!
  • Ta, Gestas! Done.
  • well if someone had told me there would be a hunky Asian doctor waiting at the end I might have tried harder!
