Protest this! (Would've posted the link, but as far as I can tell this is pretty buried, via New York Daily News pg. 14 article) Three New York Emergency Vehicles to be included in Bush's inaugrual parade.

Apparently, there will be a rescue rig, posthumously numbered 1012 for an officer killed in the 9/11 attacks (his mother gave his badge to W, which he purportedly carries around with him wherever he goes), A NYPD police truck, and a FDNY fire engine. I guess the point is that if you dare protest the inauguration, you are not just protesting Bush, but also The Tragic Events of September the 11, 2001 as well. While I can't say I'm surprised, this just reeks of pandering...

  • I have to stop and ask: did any other heroes come out of 9/11 besides NYPD and FDNY? I just keep hearing about them all the time, and I think there have got to be others out there who aren't getting their props.
  • There was the Prez, of course. He was the biggest hero, invading Iraq, and all.
  • GODFUCKINGDAMN KARL ROVE *bright flash* . . . i mean, "Yay president guy!"
  • The parade needs an image of 1,300 coffins and 20,000 pairs of crutches....
  • Whenever these guys mention 9/11 (and they mention it about 300 times a day), I think of a 70 year old Bob Denver putting on the old Gilligan red shirt and white hat...just milking it for all it's worth.
  • I have to stop and ask: did any other heroes come out of 9/11 besides NYPD and FDNY? I always felt kind of proud of the people who crashed in Somerset, PA, if the story did go as first told. The milking of "let's roll" after that soured my impression, though. Go figure.
  • Yeah, turning a dead man's last known words into a catchphrase left a bad taste in my mouth, too.
  • Uh, this is going to be a stupid question, but shouldn't NYC Emergency vehicles be available to respond to NYC emergencies? Just asking.
  • Er, not wishing to oversnark much, but without even a link or anything... this is kind of a rubbish post, isn't it? I mean, we're not actually a left-wing American politics messageboard. I know we're majority American, I know we're majority left-wing, and there's nothing wrong with that, and American politics does affect the whole world, and so on and so on. But just starting a chat, with no links, about a very minor element of a purely ceremonial event... pretty lazy, and a pretty bad precedent, no? Maybe a dedicated inauguration thread, like was done for the Presidential debates, would have been okay. Can we turn this into that?
  • I knew someone would have a problem with this... I just think it's important to note that this current administrations willingness to use force, coercion, and petty theatrics to cow the people is worthy of note. The fact that after the debacle at his last parade, which was an unprecendented event in which the motorcade was barraged by objects and words alike to the point where W is the first president not to make the ceremonial walk from the limo to the podium. So now he pulls the 9/11 card to make people feel "guilty" about protesting this one. I think that America's degeneration into a theocratic monarchy is in fact, worthy of note. And, as I stated, I would've posted a link had I been able to find one in the limited time I have... (A little busy a work today... my humblest apologies)
  • I just think it's important to note that this current administrations willingness to use force, coercion, and petty theatrics to cow the people is worthy of note I think that might have been noted once or twice already, but... :-) Anyhow, it's not a huge problem, it's just that more of this sort of thing would make the site pretty ugly and damn near unreadable. But if everybody who wants to talk about the inauguration keeps it in this thread, then it will have served a noble purpose, and all will be cool and froody in the world.
  • blah blah blah blah blah VRWC blah blah BushHitler blah blah W sucks blah blah blah 9/11 card blah blah blah blah blah blah blah theatrics blah blah blah blah blah theocracy blah blah blah world less safe blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah coercion blah blah blah GODFUCKINGDAMN KARL ROVE blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah reeks of pandering blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah force blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah So, anything here that we haven't already heard 100 BILLION FREAKING TIMES here on MoFi?
  • indeed flash.... indeed... So mulder... you got a "blah" key? Or did you type that in all by yourself...
  • f8x translation: "Lalalala I can't hear you lalala"
  • you know, f8xmulder... when something is evil enough we should keep talking about it... you think, perhaps we should just roll over and let these assholes continue on as they have? Every fucking evil thing bush does should be in the spotlight every fucking minute of the day... and, no, I DON'T feel better now... I won't feel better as long as that idiot is in the whitehouse.
  • Generalissimo Fransicso Franco is still dead. But he's not gearing up to pound America with freakishly radical bible-thumping neocon mindfuck legislation and theatre for another four years either. That's new. Also, Bush is using 9/11 imagery after the appalling, arrogant, disgraceful Republican National Committee horror show that helped elect him to this second term of the same. Also new. 100 BILLION FREAKING TIMES? Yes. American soldiers still dying for a misguided war he rushed us into? Yes. Red-staters still lacking the communications skills to competently discuss one goddamn aspect of Bush's policy for more that 5 minutes and thereby electing to drive us into a huge pile of the same corrupt arrogant ill-conceived smug SHIT for another four years? There were no WMD's you clueless fucks. Quit electing people. on preview, that's pretty dang fascistic so I'm going to go sit down now.
  • I for one take some small comfort in knowing that by this time tomorrow, we're more than halfway through Chimpy's reign. It's VERY small comfort, though. But the only comfort I can find -- and I tried really, really hard.
  • It could be, perhaps, that as a resident New Yorker, I am more offended by this than others. However, as flashboy succintly stated, the world does not end outside of NYC, nor the US. I lose that perspective sometimes (being a typical arrogant "I Live in NYC" badge-wearing fool). That said, I will take this point to hijack my own thread... (Don't want to go over the 1 FPP per day limit, but I wouldn't mind if any other Monkeys made it a FPP) Just a few questions, which may have been answered in previous threads, but I've been busy so don't have time to peruse the "new comments in old threads" section of MoFi. 1)Where's tracicle? I know she was expecting, but I haven't seen her post in awhile... just wondering if any mokneys have an update on that. 2)What's up with the CD-Swap? I'm rarin' to go!!! 3)Lastly, When can we order the shirts? I got a $20 bill set aside, but the pints at the pub are calling to it... must... resist... ale....
  • "Claims that the epidemic was due to Rage Infected Monkeys have now been dismissed as b-" - Shaun of the Dead
  • That's a slice of fried gold, flashboy.
  • "f8xmulder... you think, perhaps we should just roll over and let these assholes continue on as they have?" Yes, he does think that. Bush worships Jesus, so everything he does is just hunkydory.
  • Nostrildamus... I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on this one... bush (I refuse to put a capitol letter on that name!) doesn't "worship jesus"...bush "uses jesus". Being somewhat of an agnostic myself, I'm not real up to speed on the teachings of the big J, but somehow I don't believe that anything I've ever heard would support the actions of the murderer we have in the white house. If bush were the 'christian' that he claims to be, his behavior would reflect it.. he lies about his religion just as he lies about everything else. I'm just always so frigging surprised that these people believe him...... This -murder a baby/prise the lord/murder a baby/praise the lord- flip flop must cause them to be very dizzy!
  • 1. This post sucks. 2. This discussion thread sucks worse. 3. It's frustrating that liberals in the US spend so much time masturbating to "Look What Bush Did Now" press clippings and insulting the very people they need to vote for their guy next time that they can't mount a serious challenge to the Republicans, and liberals in the rest of the world have to live with the shitty result of their incompetence.
  • If that was sarcastic, mct, that's actually exactly what I meant - sorry for mangling it.
  • On second thought... rocket is right...it would be better if we just averted our eyes to this stuff and not talk about it! crap! Interesting that we have two responses that just say "shut up, we don't want to hear it, chimp boy does just fine by us"... I don't think we are going to shut up... I think we will continue to throw in your face the fact that bush has lied to you and is a complete idiot. We will point out where he was wrong. We will show you the terror that he has created.. The mistake we have made up to this point is to not be vocal enough. We've tried reason, we've tried facts...that didn't work because those that believe in bush refuse to acknowledge it...and now we are angry.... I'm sorry this makes you uncomfortable....
  • Nostrildamus... I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on this one... bush (I refuse to put a capitol letter on that name!) doesn't "worship jesus"...bush "uses jesus". I agree with you, I should have made myself clearer. However, try explaining this to the christians.
  • Interesting that we have two responses that just say "shut up, we don't want to hear it, chimp boy does just fine by us"... I hope you're not including mine in that count. As I've said many times before, I don't like Bush. I don't like anyone in his cabinet. But What I also don't like is the endless stream of posts that all say the same thing. I know Bush is an idiot. I know the government is evil. I know the war is unjust and based on lies. And I would like nothing more than to see his opponents in the US do something constructive rather than enlessly rehash the same arguments and insults on the internet. I share f8x's frustration, even though I'm on the other side of the idealogical fence from him.
  • I think Bush is fucking hot and all you liberal morans just wanna bang him hard up the rumsfeld.
  • I'll have it be noted, that I do not masturbate to "Look What Bush Did Now clippings" ... I much prefer "Canuck Nookie, Volume 11" (oh, rocket... if the thread sucks so bad, why keep posting?)
  • rocket...short of armed rebellion (which doesn't sound like all that bad an idea), what do we have other than our voices... and they all say the same thing because the truth doesn't change over time... and we DO need to "endlessly rehash" this... EVERYWHERE... including the internet! It is sitting quietly and being polite that has gotten us where we are now.. ironically, I started to end this with "I've said enough now....etc, etc.."... see, we've been trained not to make pests of ourselves, to be polite, to share, to let the other person have a word now and then.... and we give up our power in doing that... and right now we need all the power we can muster... this idiot is destroying not just the US, but the world, we can NOT afford to sit quietly and smile... so... I guess I HAVEN'T said enough...
  • we've been trained not to make pests of ourselves, to be polite, to share, to let the other person have a word now and then ... and we give up our power in doing that ... and right now we need all the power we can muster Oh look, it's a neoconservative.
  • Just jokes, my friend!
  • (oh, rocket... if the thread sucks so bad, why keep posting?) I'm trying to improve it, rather than just endlessly whine about how bad it is. And the Canuck Nookie series jumped the shark after Volume 7.
  • Yes, rocket... I always thought 7 was the best of the series :) Oh, keep on posting then, discourse and discussion are what makes this place great.. I should'be realized that from the fact that you thought the thread sucked and continued to post... I'm just a little snarky today....
  • should've... of course...
  • rocket88 = voice of wisdom. HuronBob said: you know, f8xmulder... when something is evil enough we should keep talking about it... *sing-song voice* Your definition of evil doesn't match my definition of evil. I keed, I keed. But kinda not really. I find it interesting that you call Bush evil, yet what Bush or I would call evil, you'd say, "No way man, that's not evil!" So it seems you and I are at an impasse, both theologically and politically. What can we agree on that's evil? War? Sure. Murder, theft, poverty? Of course. But there's more to it than just, "War is evil, or murder is evil", or "Bush is evil." Yet you demonstrate no nuance, no explication for what makes Bush evil. And even when you break things down, your interpretation of events, policies, actions, and situations is clearly different from my own. So what makes you right over me (or vice versa)? Every fucking evil thing bush does should be in the spotlight every fucking minute of the day... Does that include making the Democrats look foolish for not being able to field a worthy candidate that could beat this "evil" man? Does it include revealing the bankruptcy of liberal ideology by inciting, just by being in office, its true froth-at-the-mouth hate elements and purposeless bash sessions (like this FPP, for one)? Because I hear a ton of bad-mouthing and "Bush is evil" talk. Unfortunately, it's outshouting the more sensible (rocket88) members of your party. I can disagree with rocket88 (and I do on most things), but I respect his opinions and thoughts because doesn't cram what he thinks about Bush (Bush is evil) down everyone's throat. Get my point? f8xmulder... you think, perhaps we should just roll over and let these assholes continue on as they have? Talk about framing the debate! George Lakoff should be talking to you!
  • I agree with flashboy. Also, on an unrelated topic, and because I can't find an excuse to post it anywhere else today, here is a quote from Mil Millington's latest mailing list email. "Those gales we've had over the last week dislodged a tile from our roof. (Note how I took something completely specific to Britain there, but blithely talked about it - "Those gales we've had..." - with a sense that it concerned the entire world and nothing beyond or other existed at all. I call this crafty stylistic technique, 'Doing an American.')"
  • I don't think we are going to shut up... I think we will continue to throw in your face the fact that bush has lied to you and is a complete idiot. But, you know, maybe you could do a little less of this here. Its starting to drown out the beauty...
  • Its starting to drown out the beauty... Seconded. I can't stand the man. I think he's honestly the worst president we've had, at least in my lifetime. I find it hard to believe that any overfed white guy in Washington gives two shits about me, but there are moments when I come close to believing that President Bush actually regards those of my economic class and below with contempt. His policies certainly seem to show it from time to time. It gives me the shakes to think that Clinton was dragged into a $70m investigation and impeachment proceedings because he lied about a blowjob, but this scandal-ridden administration all but gets a pass. But this is not a political blog. And this is not an American blog. Politics are welcome here, Americans are welcome here, but honest to God, sometimes we get a little careless with the good china. The six months preceding and one month following the (US) election were a daily exercise in demonstrating that. Endless, endless and nasty repetition. And it didn't get our guy elected. And it won't work next time, either. Can we try a new tack and keep the site from getting cluttered with AntiBushFilter, please? I don't want MoFi turning into a bile vent. Vent to your friends, vent to your SOs, GYOB, whatever, but let's try to keep this place clean, huh? Oh, and let's do something positive to effect a change this time, what do you say? Volunteer time. Put your anger into creative, constructive contributions to sending the fucker back to Texas.
  • Fuck me, but this is one hell of a gedigen car wreck! I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
  • Does it include revealing the bankruptcy of liberal ideology by inciting, just by being in office, its true froth-at-the-mouth hate elements and purposeless bash sessions (like this FPP, for one)? Unfair, unless you want to talk about the bankruptcy of US conservative ideology after its eight years of hateful, shit-throwing and mouth-frothing during the Clinton administration (e.g, see the aforementioned blowjob investigation). Liberals don't do this. People do. And you're smart enough to know that, f8x.
  • Get this.
  • post something interesting then.
  • middleclasstool: you're right. People are the problem, not ideologies. Both of our sides has its respective problems, but the real problem is when people spout and spew instead of offering constructive criticism and discussion. And that's what I was *really* railing about. Bringing liberal ideoology into it was a smokescreen. However, my main point remains, I believe, in accord with yours.
  • Okay I have just come back from committing acts so egregious and horrible that they cannot even be explained, and am now feeling better. Apologies for the invective upon this, O hallowed MoFi. Having said that, and with due deference to rocket's point about the activism (unless there's a better one-word summation) and MCT's call for civil discourse (No you shut up!) I tender the following: This post is about the use of NYC emergency vehicles in the inaguration parade. If that's not correct, let's clear that up. If that is correct - let's get to it in our most civil, activist (a) guise (b) fashion (c) manner. Or, suggest a better course of action for discussion in this thread. Decrying the FPP as unworthy is disqualified and what are you doing even reading this far you self-hating, hairy-palmed git.
  • Indeed! *tips hat to f8x* And now I'm off to look for a link.
  • post something interesting then OK
  • It's a big place MoFi ... there are lots of other threads ... Can't you sensible, rational, balanced people go and play on another thread and let us bile-filled loonie lefties rant in peace? Thanks ...
  • Can't you sensible, rational, balanced people go and play on another thread and let us bile-filled loonie lefties rant in peace? I hadn't thought of that! *scrambles up tree, throws a bunch of bananas down for the loonie lefties*
  • This has nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism, this has everything to do with basic civilization, which this administration and it's followers are running into the ground. I was 12 years old when Nixon was impeached. I thought he would go to prison. What he did was, by definition treasonous. Nothing happened. I was around 16 or 17 when BCCI and the Savings and Loan scandals broke. I thought they would nail the bastards for sure. Nothing happened. I was 20 when Reagan campaigned against Carter and everyone at the time thought Reagan didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. Than along came the October Surprise and the bastard slithered into office, along with the most corrupt staff this country's probably ever seen. Then the Freedom doctrine was struck down and media was no longer obliged to tell two sides of a story to make sure there was no bias. Then we got Iran Contra, and I thought for sure this was the wake up call and they would really impeach Reagan, imprison him and everyone associated with him and finally there really would be a 'Morning in America'. Nothing happened. In fact, scuttlebutt is that Kerry was one of those who helped to cover up the whole thing. Along with Savings and Loan. And BCCI. Then we got Bush I, who probably ran Reagan's white house anyway. Then we got Clinton, a Republican in democrat's clothing. And a lot of republican foot-dragging and obstructionism. Now we have Bush II and the floodgates of corruption and impropriety and murder and sociopathy flow freely. I think this URL pretty much points to how I feel: http://www.blackteasociety.org/propaganda/minuteman.jpg
  • I do not recommend eating fruit from that tree.
  • At least if it were a choice between watching 100 car commercials and seeing 100 Bush/Administration-is-a-fucktard posts I'd choose the later. Of course I don't watch much T.V. anymore. Not sure what I mean myself.
  • I ask those of you supporting our president to please point out one good, honest, unselfish thing he has done of his own accord.. for those that don't support him, but don't want to hear about it any more, please consider carefully the results of your silence.... But, I will honor your requests, I would be glad to continue this via e/mail (in my profile)..
  • I just want to say, I'm listening to the song "Kung-Fu" by Ash repeatedly, very loud. I've had a few, been to a pub quiz at my local lesbian bar (didn't win, embarassed myself and my heritage by not knowing a Catholic religious holiday), and even though I'm broke and at a potentially very fucking painful point in my life, I'm feeling pretty damn good about stuff right now. I would heartily recommend listening to "Kung-Fu". It rocks, punka-pop style. Also, in a demure little wave of acknowledgement from Oooold Europe, I just feel I should affirm that I'm all kinds of left-wing that have barely even been heard of in America, but that I value the concept of, oooh, not being fucking boring over any political or religious ideology any day. I dunno, it's just a thing I have. Maybe I'm wrong. But I couldn't help be amused by the people who took any critique of this thread as tacit support for Bush being the exact same people who find Bush's "you're either with us or against us" absurdities to be an offense against reason. Yes, HuronBob, I'm talking to you, amongst others. But - oooh, look, a squirrel! In another aside, those of you looking bleakly ahead to "four more years" - for the first seventeen years of my life, I knew nothing but Conservative rule, most of that by the creature Thatcher. Seventeen bloody years - from the time I was born almost until the time I could vote, one appalling party ran the country. Eight years? Fuck off, you lightweights. And you know what? We made it out okay. Made it to the point where we can be pissed off that a government who restored trade union rights and introduced a minimum wage and took us closer to Europe and who believe in progressive taxation and equalised the age of consent and are about to introduce civil partnerships and have no interest in privatising social security can be condemned for not being left wing enough. And I get to be one of the ones condemning them! My point: for all our justified anger, we're actually doing okay. So will you be. I'm now listening to "Take Your Mama Out" by the Scissor Sisters. It's camp as tits, and even though my mate who supported them at a few gigs tells me they're arrogant shitters, I'm enjoying myself hugely. That's all, really.
  • Rock on, flashboy.
  • rocket88 1970 to 2005 makes it about thirty year five years of conservative hornswaggling. Gotcha beat by a few . . . That is: my early teens, adulthood, now into middle age. I've also got a friend from the former Yugoslavia who says they had more freedoms under Tito than we have in this country now. He's gone back to all those old-school mannerisms of watching what they say, watching what they put in letters they write, what they say on the phone, what they post on message boards, e-mails, watching over the shoulder, etc. etc. Honeker's East Germany, here we come . . .
  • I'm another that doesn't like Bush,("Another what?" you say, but I don't answer)but I agree with the ever lovely rocket88. Some of you say that "we should never shut up about our opinions" on W, but I have to ask, how much does it accomplish to rant about them here? Whom do you think you are reaching that will suddenly change their minds? We've got very few members that don't agree with us, and threads like this don't engender good discussion. And, even if the great un-registered masses that read this stuff are all conservatives, is ranting going to change their minds? I think it just props up the view that liberals don't have anything that's effective against the right's current popularity. Well, maybe it serves the purpose of allowing us to vent, but venting isn't that interesting. I suspect that there are places on the internets where venting is fostered. But, berating the "assholes" really does nothing. And, I should point out that f8x has been a good debater in the past, when we actually had something persuasive to say. He even changed his mind on at least one issue because he was open to considering the discussions. I agree with his "blah, blah" comment on this, even though I'm way on the other side of the fence.
  • okokok... jeez... This kind of stuff is why I stopped posting at the big blue... People jumping down eachother's throats for a measly FPP. I thought it was interesting. I don't think it's been done before (the motorcade NYPD/FDNY 9/11 farce), and yes, I hate Bush. I understand that after the US election people are a little sick of Bush, but for fuck's sake. Sure, I got a little tired of hearing about Intelligent Design vs. Evolution, so I just DIDN'T CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUCKING THREAD!!!! Eventually, threads such as those only had 3 or 4 comments (I don't know about here, I stopped paying attention, but at some of the other forums I dwell in), so people stopped posting them as obviously no one was interested anymore. I can take the occasional snarky "been there done that" comment but this is getting ridiculous... Fine... I'm a stupid left-wing jackass who is parotting liberal agenda... this post is a piece of shit... I'm a fucking retard for posting it. The ensuing thread (my contributions anyway) are absolutely fucking useless. I promise never, ever to post here again. You fucking happy?!
  • Dear The World, Before you, in whatever capacity you are currently interacting with The Rest Of The World, decide that you now have a new enemy, try to imagine them saying this: "Although we are not with you, that does not mean that we are against you." Carefully consider if this statement could (logically or emotionally) be consistent with whatever it is they're saying or doing. Then, feel free to go about your business, in all joy and love. Regards, Tom P.S. I'm listening to The Decemberists now. Lordy, they're good! You should give them a try, really you should.
  • Debaser: It's not so much this post in particular that I had a problem with...it was the constant string of Bush Sucks threads. Yours was just the latest...the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. The topic itself (the fire truck thing) was something I didn't know about, so it was at least informative...but without a link it seemed like nothing more than an invitation to start the old Bush-bashing discussion. I kind of feel bad for joining in a "This post sucks" callout, because I hate it when it happens over at that other filter. I'll have to restrain myself next time I feel one coming on.
  • There's a bit of a fine line, methinks. Seems like half of MeFi comments and MeTa posts nowadays are callouts. OTOH, a community does have to engage in at least some self-policing. So Debaser626, I'm sorry. I wasn't at all meaning to single you out. Please don't take it personally.
  • I think that the 'self policing' is only necessary when there are a shitload of such threads. I don't see many political threads around here. Even during the election cycle there were like two or three or something. I don't see what the big deal is. Plus I like to fight.
  • And you expected ... what? They are politicians. Pandering is like breathing to them. I'm honestly surprised that you're surprised they would pull a stunt like this. No - it's not right, but I've pretty much given up on this government and this country. If I ever have enough money to start over, I'm outta here.
  • Uh, this is going to be a stupid question, but shouldn't NYC Emergency vehicles be available to respond to NYC emergencies? Go back to the reality-based community where you belong. NYC Emergency vehicles are for Jesusland.
  • Hi Everyone, just wanted to say I enjoy reading all of your posts; they're very thought-provoking and thoughtful but one thing I really hate to see is everyone tossing off at one another. Please, for the kittens, let's all have a group hug. . .
  • I love how f8xmulder pretends to be the voice of reason after he posts this comment. This forum is much more reasonable than Free Republic. When they allow dissenting voices to speak without being flamed then I'll listen to you.
  • I was 20 when Reagan campaigned against Carter and everyone at the time thought Reagan didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. Than along came the October Surprise and the bastard slithered into office, along with the most corrupt staff this country's probably ever seen. The October Surprise is a bullshit story with no proof. I'm familiar with it. Loonies on public radio ran with it without providing any proof.
  • Yeah, and Bush running pell-mell all over the planet is just a conspiracy theory too. . .
  • Oh, and Bush's National Guard service being legitimate, that's another conspiracy theory . . . So is any kind of moral character being exhibited by the man or any of his followers. Any of them. Reminds me of Mao's Red Guards . . .
  • This forum is much more reasonable than Free Republic. When they allow dissenting voices to speak without being flamed then I'll listen to you. What does Free republic have to do with f8xmulder? What does Free Republic have to do with anything?
  • Sullivan - you disappoint re f8x. Yes, he flew off the handle at you one time, but his comments in this thread have been far from flames, from my standpoint.
  • Again, I've got to chuckle at all the dissing of this FPP that's going on, when this thread totals more than 70 comments at this point....
  • I.e. If you don't like the topic, register that opinion if you want, then go somewhere else. Don't tell people here what they should and shouldn't talk about, especially when there's plenty of displayed interest in the topic.
  • I have seen little interest in the topic, but lots of interest in the kind of thread this has become.
  • Why does Sullivan hate me so? I never called him out on an FPP...
  • Oh come now, f8xy - you know he hates you because you embody all that is evil and repugnant in a world that is so, so cruel. But on the other hand, you're just so damn cute!
  • Don't sweat it, f8xxOrs, it's just a bit of cut and thrust. Damn pixels! *bleeds*
  • Plus he likes oatmeal. I hate fuckers what eat oatmeal. F8cker.
  • AAAnnd now, let's bring out our Bush propaganda machine, hosted byyyy . . . *drumroll* . . F8X news! Yaaaayyy! scroll to "Fair and Balanced". Please note the tone not the content. (although, if you want to, sure, note the content) I would like to mention that the point of this thread was the outrage of using NYC emergency vehicles in the parade - but I can't find a single source to verify that. Fly, monkeys! Fly and bring me those slippers! real masochists may read the latest from the ever-Batshit Insane author Coulter
  • heh - just hasslin' ol' f8x there, I don't consider him a propaganda machine . . .
  • I think of f8x as a love machine. I'm glad he hangs 'round here.
  • Pete, Division One
  • Wait a tick. The Halau Ho'omau l I Ka Wai Ola O Hawai’i from Alexandria, VA will be there? Oh man, that's just...that's just... I'm speechless. I'm without speech.
  • Yeah i guess it's not as much of a focal point as I'd thought, but it's still a question of - will they ever stop trying to own the collective unconscious for Sept 11? It doesn't belong to them, and using it as if it did is slimy - to say the least. To say the most it's dishonest, cruel and aggressive manipulation perpetrated by arrogant greedy power-mad bastards who've kidnapped the GOP for pseudo-Christian agendas and anti-American activities . . . dang there I go again with the fascist stuff
  • will they ever stop trying to own the collective unconscious for Sept 11? Not as long as it works.
