Bush Forcefully Attacks! Hopefully with better results than his IRAQ ATTACK. Antother Typical Dry Alcoholic Simian Display of Pique!!
  • I think its both sad and bizarre how they'll push their agenda with anywhere from 0% - 100% of the truth and it really doesn't matter to them either way. "Rewrite History" is a coded message to the conservative base to start flogging each other again. Riding nicely on the back of Rove's freakout speech the day before. The talk radio crowds will surely get a bang, but it's really sad to watch it all wave out again. C'mon you moderate conservatives who disapprove . . . don't believe the hype again! The president spoke at the Tobyhanna Army Depot on a stage decorated with posters that said "Strategy for Victory." It's like someone back at ShrubCo went "*snap!* Oh! We should get a Strategy for Victory together! That's just crazy enough to work!" What does "Al Quaida" mean in Arabic again?
  • a.k.a. "Nothing to see here - move along"
  • "I'm the commander — see, I don't need to explain — I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president." —as quoted in Bob Woodward's Bush at War
  • whenever the 'sending the wrong image to the troops' argument comes up, I'm not sure what it means. Does that mean we shouldn't let them know that they're dying for no reason?
  • When I heard a brief snippet of this "fantastic" speech on the BBC World news earlier tonight, I could have swore I was listening to a speaker at an AA meeting. He was using words like "enabler" and the such. Rock on George!! Bring out the big guns!!
  • Ok, I'm obviously a radical. But come on... Bush stinks, but we don't need tons of FPPs to tell us so. Same goes for the Santorum link (as funny, and gross, as santorum is).
  • I agree ian, especially as there are several regularly updated threads open for this kind of content, though the chutzpah of "...it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how [the Iraq] war began" is quite a choice quote.
  • the chutzpah of "...it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how [the Iraq] war began" is quite a choice quote Well, he was a History major at Yale, so he would know. The speech is part of the administrations "campaign-style" strategy to defend taking us to war, but it's basically the same speech he's been giving all year. The Washington Post rebuts his defense. (More in my MetaFilter post.) "History, we don’t know. We’ll all be dead." -- President George W. Bush
  • I'm sick of seeing the phrase "mistakes were made". From now on this must be read as "I made mistakes, but I'm too cowardly to admit it." Letting fools off the hook seems to promote spontaneous generation of more.
  • From now on this must be read as Are you over 13?
  • I was waiting for Bushco to resort to "even though you peaceniks told us the war was wrong, would result in a quagmire, and the intelligence questionable (Chalabi? UNIMPEACHABLE, come on, you know it. MUSHROOM CLOUD), its your fault things have gone bad."
  • Jet: Yah, I'm with you. Every hood on the block uses that ol' passive sentence structure nowadays.
  • Bombs were dropped. Murders committed. Writers kept thinking their readers dim-witted.
  • So, no clear exit strategy, then?
  • No, he bravely stayed the course.
  • But China would not open the doors of freedom.
  • *sigh*
