OrganicHTML is a very cool flash site that takes a URL and spits out a cool flash generated plant. I can’t figure out what it is grabbing to form the plant but it seems to be some combination of files and directory structure I think. Any other insights would be appreciated as I can find no information written about how it works.

It makes inverse plants. The Fark plant is rad, but the Homestar one sucks.

Inverse, dude.

I don't know what it's doing, but I think I like it.

From the speed of the response, I suspected maybe it was totally bullshitting, but it grabs colors from tag attributes. The plants match the color of the pages they represent.

just talked to the guy who made it and he said it parses things like color, text, images, links, flash, and, primarily, table structure.

Monkeyfilter: I don't know what it's doing, but I think I like it.

I've noticed some parts of the plant seem clickable, yet nothing happens...defintely strange in its manner...try out archive.org for one bigass plant!

gren, I'll see your archive.org and raise you www.ffshrine.org.

Amazon makes a very colorful plant.

Anyone can see why sometimes there's a fly buzzing around?

The best one so far was newgrounds - it had the bug flying around. And mofi is much nicer than mefi - actually metafilter is kind of scary looking!

Doesn't work for me...

Flash problem?

Hmmm, I thought it was rather blah until I read these comments.

Color--I only have black and white and very small. Must try again with some of the links mentioned.

AHHHHH!

I did find one plant that was so big it went off the screen, but I forgot where it was at.

Funnily, almost all my Final Fantasy links went off the screen.

Very neat. Yahoo.com went flew off the page. Staples.com made a pretty page but I think many do.

hmm.... overgrow.com, hightimes.com and cannabisculture.com are all pretty flowers.

Having read the thread I see it as coincidence...
