New Zealand war art showcases about 1,500 images of New Zealanders at war beginning with World War I. Lots and lots of images in a wide variety of media by a long list of artists. stolen almost word for word direct from marxchivist's post via the Blue.

Wow!
Some very moving images, GramMa.
Neat, eh, islander?
What I found surprising at first was the number and quality of the artwork. Dunno why, just found it interesting.
Some good stuff there--glad you liked it.
I just browsed through forty-odd pages of WW2 art - #2's grandfather was in North Africa and Monte Cassino. I've read the letters he wrote home to his mother; I need to send this on to my father-in-law. He'll love it.
Hey! So was my granddad! Dunkirk, El Alamain, up through Italy etc. They may have taken the piss out of each other!
Bloody Kiwis.
My grandad can beat up your grandad!
The water colors give a sensual, even meditative look to the war. Thanks, BlueHorse, for posting these field sketches. They show so much monkey/human-interest!
